The company, Vini – Boshkilov Ltd. is established in 1999 with main activities, including production, processing, stabilizing and bottling of high quality red wines from own wine massifs. The vineyards of the Company are registered in the National Chamber of Vineyards and Wineries under #4934.
The company has started its action with the establishment of vineyard massifs of young perennial plants which amount to 150 decares at present. The goal is to expand them to 200 decares by year 2007. This should be the first stage of the company’s investment program.
Parallel to the establishment of the own vineyard massif, the company Vini-Boshkilov Ltd. Has started the construction of a wine cellar for the production of high quality dry red wines.
Winery Vini – Boshkilov Ltd. is an enterprise of the wine and vineyard industry, built to produce a capacity of 150-200 tons of wine. It gives the opportunity to produce smaller batches of different types of wine, but with an excellent and uniform high quality.
The region where the vineyard massifs are is well explored and investigated by agricultural specialists in advance. The results have shown that the area belongs to the Continental Mediterranean climatic region. The main characteristics of the climate are formed under the influence of the Atlantic and Mediterranean water basins. It is also based on the availability of mountain ranges, which are a natural obstacle for the cold winds from the north. The region is characterized with a mild winter.
The spring is warm and comes early, which determines the early beginning of the plant’s vegetation.
The climatic characteristics determine an average no-frost period of 228 days per year, relatively high compared with the other regions in the country. The average annual temperature (statistic data for the country for a nine-month period of time) varies from 13.59 to 13.88 o.
The region is characterized with an annual vegetation temperature sum of 3600 o to 4600o. This is a prerequisite for the grapes to reach technological ripeness.
The absolute minimal temperatures of –13o are exceptional and the possibility the temperature to drop below –10 o is only 15% (statistical data for the past nine years). This fact shows that practically the plants in this region are defended from freezing.
A technological project is developed, based on the characteristics of this region – Sandanski and Petrich, which consists of agrarian and technical activities, as well as a plan for the density of plantations and their formation. The distance for planting the vines is 2/1.20, with 416 vine plants per decare. The formation is average stem two-sided cordon with a height of the stem of 70 cm.
This provides an easy and qualitative cultivation, as well as the implementation of a herbal defense activities. The distance between the rows and the formation are according to the fertility of the soil, the available machinery and the biological peculiarities of the planted brands – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Melnik 55.
The direction of the planted rows is according to the characteristics of the terrain. We offer the optimum length of the rows to use small dimensional agricultural machinery, and thus avoiding the loss of usable land. The vines are situated on a supporting steel wire structure with a total height of 1.5 m, according to the ecological peculiarities of the region.
This provides support to the vine plants in order to guarantee the best conditions for maximum growth, adequate quality and secured in quantity crops with the best quality of grapes. The brands of vines are consistent with the requirements of the soil, climate and terrain.
I. I. Merlot – there are two French brands grew:
1. 1. Merlot, brand 184, imported from the Bordeux region in France. This brand is characterized by the good growth and fertility. The young wine bears a typical for the brand aroma, with a nuance of forest berries, high quality with a saturated red color, good taste balance with explicit mildness and the feeling of piquant spices like vanilla, caramel…
2. Merlot, brand 519 – the grape grain is average large, spherical, bluish-black with wax coating. The grape reaches its technological ripeness in the middle of September, with 22.6% sugar. The young wine has excellent quality, pronounced fruit aroma, with a harmonic taste of wild berries and strawberry. The wine has the typical for the brand red color. It has also well structured, high density body, with a stylish finish and leaves nice taste on the palate.

The grapes reach technological ripeness during the third decade of September. Fertility is high. The wine has extremely high quality. It contains a low level of organic acids, which is a prerequisite for harmonious taste with dense and good balance. The wine is dark in color, alcoholic and highly extractive. They possess a strong aftertaste with nuance of tobacco, leather, red berries and vanilla.

A wine cellar was built in Blagoevgrad in 2003, where the grape is processed into wine.
The wine cellar has all necessary machines and vessels for the wine manufacture.

A fully equipped laboratory serves the needs of the wine cellar and offers all kinds of analyses and examinations.
